Today, I"m blogging to blog. I put this poem on this post because I like this poem and I've had it saved on my computer. Over the past few months, I've realized that I need to listen to myself, every part of my self. If I want to do something, it's probably because (shocker) I actually want to do it.
Purely, simply, deeply, joyfully. I use a planner I keep my space organized I am growing three aloe plants in novelty mugs, and I am nourishing a mini succulent that I've had for 3 years I go to bed early some nights I stay up passed midnight playing Nintendo Switch with my friends some nights I exercise a lot some weeks I don't exercise for a few weeks I spend time making myself a brewed coffee even though I can walk across the street and buy one that tastes better (read: has way more sugary goodness in it) I room with my twin sister at college I choose how I worship God I learn American Sign Language I post inspiring quotes and Bible verses where I can see them daily I sleep snuggled up with some stuffies I write to my penpal in Michigan and to my Grandpa I adore all things snail mail and stationery related I spend four hours straight organizing in a state of calm bliss I put on eye liner on a non-occasion day to get back into practice with it I blog... all simply because I want to. Not everything in life needs to have a deep meaning. Not everything in your life needs to be approved by everyone else in your life. Just let yourself go and live out the smallest details and quiet moments of your life. Purely, simply, deeply, joyfully.

As some of you might have seen, I've written multiple posts about resources for new bloggers. {{You can see those posts here and here!}} This is the newest addition to my growing list of resources! FirstSiteGuide.comThis is an amazing website full of guides on things like How to Start a Blog and How to Choose the Right Domain Name. It is a great place for improving new or existing blogs. This site is user friendly, super easy to navigate, plus they offer free help to anyone who asks! For example, right now I am talking to Ms. Valentina who is giving me advice on how to improve this blog in it's second year!
It is always important to ask others for help and advice, you can always improve on something! Please let me know of the resource that has helped you the most! Leave a comment or email me at [email protected]. Until next time! Meghan Hello everyone! Even though I don't have any clue who everyone is or how many people everyone includes...
Last night I watched Moms' Night Out. While it might not be the main point of the movie, one of the main characters has just started a blog. She goes from four to a couple hundred followers really fast. I don't know if that is realistic, or far off point, but it got me thinking about this blog. Maybe I'm just missing something, maybe I'm too young, maybe it's because I don't give this a boatload of attention, maybe it's because I'm not selling anything, or because I don't have a niche yet, maybe it's because I don't have my own domain, maybe it's because the only social network I have the blog on is a site that brings a bunch of blogs onto the same page-- but this doesn't feel like a huge deal to anybody. I might just be over thinking, teenagers do that right? I don't even know what I'm trying to say with this post, maybe I'm just putting it here for the other doubting bloggers or for my future super successful self as a mark of progress! If anyone has any suggestions or bits of advice please leave it in the comments below or email me at [email protected]. Look forward to hearing from one of my everyones! Love, Meghan PS also if there are any EASY TO USE audience tracker site things that you know about, those would be helpful too Check out the beginning of this post by clicking here!
Here's the most recent links I have found that are very helpful!
Today I realized that I have never actually done any research on how to build/maintain a blog before creating this one! So I decided to do a little searching and found some great sites! However, Weebly.com is not one of the most popular blog hosts (Blogger and WordPress) so the information is not host-specific...
For those of you who are looking to start a blog, here are some of the pages that I found. * Melanie Nelson's How Do I Start a Blog? on www.bloggingbasics101.com This page has lots of links to other posts on Melanie's Blogging Basics 101 blog and external websites. These were also extremely helpful as beginning briefings to the blogging world. This page links to: * www.copyscape.com This site serves as a search engine to find any content scraped from your blog. Melanie also permalink-ed to her blog post What to Do When Someone Steals Your Blog Post. * Google Analytics is a Google product that keeps track of you stats. It's format was a little small and not too Meghan-friendly! However, I think I will still use it though, because I find it so cool to see all the traffic patterns etc. Until then- M |
